Economic Development Services

Economic Development Services is responsible for a comprehensive municipal economic development program including business attraction, business retention and expansion, foreign direct investment, tourism, and advocacy and education as it relates to a positive business environment.  The branch is also responsible for Downtown development administration of the Central Business District Community Improvement Plan and the Downtown Shoulder Area and Simcoe Street South Community Improvement Programs as well as the operation of the Oshawa Municipal Airport.

Two significant plans guide the operations of the branch - the Sector Analysis and Cluster Development Strategy as well as the Downtown Plan 20Twenty.
