Doug Sanders
City Councillor
Doug Sanders currently holds the position of Councillor in the City of Oshawa. He is a recent retiree after more than 30 years in General Motors holding many elected positions within the Canadian Autoworkers Union, Local 222.
Doug has lived, worked and raised his family in Oshawa. As a lifelong resident of Oshawa, he has maintained a keen interest in the future of his community. He is a vocal leader who was responsible for shaping progressive polices while working within various committees that produced positive results for thousands of working people and their families.
Doug also holds a Director’s position with the Autoworkers Community Credit Union.
Doug has been dedicated to working on behalf of the community for his entire adult life. This included coaching at Woodview Park, as well as helping with the Oshawa Aquatic Club. Doug has also been involved in serving the less fortunate through the Simcoe Street Settlement House, The Refuge Outreach Centre and Cornerstone Community Association. He continues to advocate for the citizens in the City of Oshawa.
