Engineering Services

Engineering Services is responsible for the overall engineering management of the City's municipal infrastructure and environmental features. Responsibilities include the establishment of design and construction engineering standards and policies, the development and maintenance of inventories, the assessment of infrastructure and creek condition, the determination of improvement needs, and the development of capital budgets and programs. The branch also manages the design and construction of approved projects and the occupancy of municipal road allowances by utility telecommunications companies.

The branch provides important contributions to development within the City through the engineering review of development applications, approval of design, administration of agreements, and construction inspection and acceptance of infrastructure and works. Engineering advice and support is provided as required to all Corporate departments to assist in the delivery of programs and services. Through the delivery of programs and services, the branch has extensive liaison with other levels of government and outside agencies.
