Facilities Management Services
The Facilities Management Services Branch is responsible for management of City buildings including maintenance services, mechanical services, custodial/housekeeping services and related projects. This includes regular inspections; maintenance and upgrading of buildings including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural and custodial/housekeeping services.
Operations and Maintenance
The Operations and Maintenance Division is responsible for facility operations and maintenance of City buildings such as reviewing and maintaining Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Building Automation Systems, supervision and management of corporate maintenance and managing service contracts.
Capital and Technical Services
The Capital and Technical Services Division is responsible for preparation and coordination of the corporate capital budget for City buildings, project planning, management and supervision of capital construction projects and new facility construction. Project Management is also responsible for coordinating and delivery of new and major capital facilities projects including if required management of project consulting resources and managing internal/external design teams.
Energy Management
The Energy Management Division is responsible to promote the City’s usage of renewable and sustainable energy sources while reducing electricity, gas and water consumption through creative programs, education, new technologies, processes and procedures.
The office of Energy Management is responsible for the following: Durham Strategic Energy Alliance, Durham-York Residual Waste Project and Oshawa PUC.
