Community Services Department
The Community Services Department reports to Council through the Community Services Committee and is comprised of four branches that deliver a variety of programs and services to maintain and enhance the community’s quality of life. Responsibilities include the maintenance, improvement and beautification of the City’s roads, parks and public open spaces; management of the parking system; management of the City’s recreational facilities, including the delivery of fitness and leisure programs and support of arts and culture. The Department maintains quality standards related to operations including traffic safety devices, road maintenance, waste collection, environmental programs, horticulture, parks, grounds and facilities maintenance, trails and forestry. These quality standards establish Council approved levels of service and are regularly reviewed for continuous improvement.
