Led by the City Manager, the City's departments work together to deliver programs and services that reflect its values of authenticity, courage and trust.
My role as the Chief Administrative Officer is to provide effective leadership and direction to all City Departments ensuring that the administration operates efficiently, cost effectively and in accordance with City Council policy. I am responsible for successfully delivering on our strategic goals and Council's priorities, with the principles of sustainability and financial stewardship front-of-mind.
I ensure key strategic policy documents are in place and being followed, measured and reported on. Examples include the Oshawa Strategic Plan, Financial Strategy, Oshawa Official Plan, Oshawa Accessibility Plan and the Arts, Culture and Heritage Plan. In addition, key corporate policy and projects involving all departments are overseen by the City Manager's Office including, for example, the core service review, process improvements, risk management, internal audit and intergovernmental relations.
My function is supported by my direct reports including the Department Commissioners, the City Solicitor and the Executive Director Finance Services/Treasurer as well as the Executive Director, Human Resource and Director, Strategic Initiatives. Together we provide leadership, direction and support to our dedicated City staff who live our core values and aspire to excellent customer service.
