Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation
The Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation (D.R.L.H.C.) was formerly owned by the Ontario Housing Corporation and managed by the Durham Regional Housing Authority.
On January 1, 2001, ownership was transferred to the Regional Municipality of Durham. On January 1, 2002, management was transferred to the Housing Services Division of the Social Services Department of Durham Region.
D.R.L.H.C. owns and manages 1,276 housing units across Durham Region. Rental complexes include low-rise and high-rise apartment buildings, quadraplexes, townhouses and semi-detached houses. The housing portfolio contains: 17 bachelor; 887 one bedroom; 58 two bedroom; 265 three bedroom; 43 four bedroom; and 6 five bedroom rental units. Rents are calculated based on 30 percent of gross monthly income, plus a utility charge.
Applications for buildings operated by D.R.L.H.C. can be obtained at any of the Housing Access Centre satellite offices, including the D.R.L.H.C. office.
