Permits and Inspections
The City is involved in the regulation of land use in a number of ways. The development approval process involves a number of stages including the review and approval of a variety of development applications, the examination of building plans and the issuance of building permits, and inspections of building construction. In addition, City staff enforce City's by-laws and regulations related to property, such as, the Zoning By-law and the Sign By-law. Assistance programs related to residential and downtown commercial renovation are also administered by the City.
