On-Street Parking

The City needs your assistance to ensure efficient snow clearing on your street.

Vehicles parked on the street can delay or prevent effective snow clearing operations. Snowplow operators try to plow all streets back to the curb, but any road obstruction, such as a parked vehicle, make this impossible.

City of Oshawa Traffic By-law 79-99 states:

  • Parking on City streets is prohibited between the hours of 3:00 am and 6:00 am, from December 1st to April 1st.
  • Parking that interferes with snow clearing operations is prohibited and any vehicle parked in a manner which hinders efficient snow clearing operations may be ticketed or towed.
  • On-street parking is limited to a maximum of three hours, unless signed otherwise.

During snow removal activities, on street parking in the downtown core will not be permitted after 10:00 pm. Temporary signs will be placed to advise motorists that snow removal operations will be occurring and that parking is temporarily unavailable.

Boulevard snow removal activities outside the downtown core often takes place during the day, but under certain circumstances may proceed at night. Temporary signs will be placed to advise motorists that snow removal operations will be occurring and that parking is temporarily unavailable.

Please help us to keep Oshawa's streets clear and safe for everyone!
