Northwood Industrial Park Transportation Study
The City of Oshawa and the Regional Municipality of Durham are undertaking a Study to prepare a Transportation Master Plan which will determine the preferred transportation network to service the needs of the Northwood Industrial Park Area in Oshawa. The Study Area is shown shaded on the key plan. This Study is one of a number being carried out for the Study Area. A Stormwater Management Analysis and an Environmental Review and Analysis have been completed. Land use planning studies are also ongoing. The results of these studies are being considered in the Transportation Study.
The Transportation Study is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 (Problem and Opportunity) and 2 (Alternative Solutions) of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process. An important part of the Class EA process is public and stakeholder consultation. The first Public Open House for the Northwood Transportation Study was held on May 3, 2005, at which the Study Team presented transportation analysis, a problem and opportunity statement and alternative road alignments for major roads in the Study Area.
The material presented at the Public Open House is available by clicking on the following links:
- Northwood display panels (6.2 MB)
- Northwood powerpoint presentation (3.9 MB)
- Northwood alternative road alignments (1.7 MB)
Once land uses in this area have been determined by City Council, a second Public Open House will be held to provide opportunity for comment on the recommended functional design of the preferred road network.
