Results of the Public Consultation on Oshawa's New Strategic Plan

Thank You for Taking the Time to Comment

Thank you to all members of the public, stakeholder groups and City staff for taking the time to respond to our call for comments on the Draft Oshawa Strategic Plan, From Vision to Reality, An Action Plan for a Sustainable Oshawa.

In total, we had 29 consultation meetings involving over 350 participants, including 250 public and stakeholder representatives, and just over 100 staff members.

We received many email submissions from the public, stakeholders and staff. In total, we have accumulated about 165 pages of comments which have been summarized in a 50+ page Feedback Summary Document. This table will guide the preparation of the final Plan.

We Heard You

In response to the many comments and suggestions received, the final Plan will be shorter, more concise and have a cleaner, simpler design. It will also take on a new title as the revised Plan will provide the high level strategic direction, while the actions will be included in the annual Department Business Plans.

Process and Timeline to Finalize the Plan

We are currently establishing a process and timeline to finalize the Strategic Plan in concert with the Financial Strategy and Multi-Year Budget Projection. Once dates have been set, the process and timeline will be posted here.
