The City of Oshawa has hired Morrison Hershfield Consultants to conduct a Class Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Design Study for the intersection of Ritson Road North and Columbus Road East, within the City of Oshawa. The project is required to investigate the intersection alternatives and operational changes to improve the safety at the intersection. The key plan below illustrates the study area of the project.

The study is being carried out in accordance with Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2007). The study will identify appropriate alternatives to achieve improvements in terms of alignment, cross-section, drainage, and right-of-way requirements including evaluation of the impacts on the natural and social environments. Public consultation is vital to this study. We want to ensure that anyone with an interest in this study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on a preferred concept for roadway improvements.

Residents, property owners and other interested individuals are invited to participate in the study. Public information meetings will be held throughout the study to present the phases of the study and receive public input. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
