Class Environmental Assessment Study for Conlin Road West, West City Limits to 385 m West of Simcoe Street North

The Corporation of the City of Oshawa has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study and has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. to examine the need for improvements to Conlin Road, from the west City limits to 385m west of Simcoe Street North. The key plan below illustrates the study area of the project.

This study, which is being undertaken in accordance with Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process, includes public/external agencies consultation, an evaluation of the alternatives, an assessment of potential impacts associated with the proposed improvements, and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts. This Class EA Study will also confirm the need and justification for the improvements, identify the alternative solutions to the defined problems and opportunities; select a preferred implementation strategy to accommodate anticipated traffic demands, and provide efficient and safe traffic flow within the study area. Public consultation is vital to this study. We want to ensure that anyone with an interest in this study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on a preferred concept for roadway improvements.

Residents, property owners and other interested individuals are invited to participate in the study. Public information meetings will be held throughout the study to present the phases of the study and receive public input. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
