If your property is designated by by-law pursuant to the Ontario Heritage Act, Council must approve the proposed demolition application.
If you own a non-designated property listed on the City of Oshawa Register of Properties of Cultural Heritage Value or Interest, Council has 60 days to decide if the property should be designated. It is standard practice through the building permit process that if your property is a non-designated property and listed on the Register, your demolition application will be circulated to Heritage Oshawa for review and comments.
If your property has been identified as either a 'Class A' or 'Class B' in the Heritage Oshawa Inventory, it is standard practice through the building permit process that your demolition application will be circulated to Heritage Oshawa for review and comments.
