Peony Festival - Artists and Vendors

The City of Oshawa is proud to present the 8th annual Peony Festival. We are currently looking for Artists and Vendors of high quality items to exhibit and sell during the festival. This free event will be located along the Joe Kalodzie Oshawa Creek Bike Trail, in the Oshawa Valleyview Botanical Gardens, between Children’s Arena and the banks of the Oshawa Creek. Artists and Vendors can expect between three and five thousand potential customers.Event Dates/Times/Location
- Saturday, June 16, 2012: 10am to 4pm
- Sunday, June 17, 2012: 10am to 4pm
- Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens: Arena Street and Adelaide Avenue
Application Deadline is May 18, 2012
Preference will be given to:
- Local vendors (business or home address in Durham Region)
- Local artists (business or home address in Durham Region) with high quality items in any artistic medium
- Applicants who support the garden theme, either through artwork or items for sale or in food choices
- Good quality, well priced items and food choices
- Applicants who incorporate "green" initiatives
Please Note:
- All applications are subject to a selection process

- If selected a contract with Terms and Conditions and payment options will be emailed to you
- Late applications will not be accepted
- There are a limited number of spaces available
- A Certificate of insurance: $2,000,000 liability will be required
- A signed agreement, full payment and proof of insurance is required by June 1, 2012.
Location & Space Allocation

- Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens: 155 Arena Street
- Lot sizes: 10 x10 ft spaces available
- The location of each booth will be determined by the City of Oshawa
- Signage must be confined to inside your booth
- This is an outdoor event, come prepared for weather
- Booths must have a clean, attractive and professional appearance
Cost
For vendors selling items at the Peony Festival, June 16 & 17, 2012
- 10 x 10 ft spaces $72 for the event OR the donation of a work of art or item of equal value
Set Up and Take Down
- Vendors will be required to do their own set up and take down.
- It is recommended that you supply your own tent, tables, chairs and power- silent generators only
- A limited number of tables, chairs and tents will be available on-site
- Set-up: Access to park: 8am, June 16, 2012
- Please note: Late arrivals will not be accommodated.
- Set-up must be completed by: 10am, June 16, 2012
- Take Down: no earlier than 4pm June 17, 2012
- There is no overnight security. It is recommended that you dismantle your booth and store your items.
If interested please contact Dani Crosby (information below) by May 18, 2012. Application must include:
- A description of your wares and the price range.
- Images of your item(s) for sale and a link to a web site.
- A short bio including your background as an artist, main interests, and list of previous events you have participated in.
If selected you will be contacted by May 25, 2012 and a signed agreement, full payment and proof of insurance is required by June 1, 2012.
