The City of Oshawa extends our condolences to the family and friends of former long-standing Oshawa Accessibility Advisory Committee (O.A.A.C.) volunteer member Linda Tamburro who passed away recently.
A well-respected community member known for her passion to helping develop an accessible community for all abilities, Linda was first appointed in December 2006 to the O.A.A.C., an advisory committee of Oshawa City Council.

The Nominating Committee of the Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA Ports) is seeking nominations from Class 2 Port Users for candidates to be nominated to serve on the Board of HOPA Ports as a Class 2 User Director.
- Class 1 Users are defined as Private Docks.
- Class 2 Users are defined as HOPA Ports Docks and Related Businesses.

The City of Oshawa is seeking applicants for its newest consultative committee, the Community Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
The goal of the committee is to develop a community-driven model for supporting the implementation of the Diversity and Inclusion Plan and provide a forum for consultation, feedback and discussion on matters of diversity, equity and inclusion in the City of Oshawa. Community members now able to donate to favourite City programs and services

The City of Oshawa’s new donation and income tax receipt policy allows community members to support their favourite City program or service, such as Oshawa Animal Services.
The new system allows for donations to be made in person at City Hall (50 Centre St. S.) or Oshawa Animal Services (919 Farewell St.) and online through the Donation Form. The City will issue official income tax receipts to donors for eligible donations with a monetary or net fair market value of $20.00 or more.

The Ontario Government is developing a new poverty reduction strategy for Ontario and is asking residents to complete a survey and provide feedback on:
- encouraging job creation and connecting people to employment
- providing people with the right supports and services
- lowering the cost of living and making life more affordable
Input will help the Ontario Government develop a new five-year poverty reduction strategy.
