The nomination period for the 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections commences on Monday, May 2, 2022 and continues until Nomination Day, Friday, August 19, 2022.
Nominations may be filed with City Clerk Services (5th Floor, Rundle Tower, City Hall, 50 Centre St. S., Oshawa) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday or on Nomination Day between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Nominations will be accepted by the City Clerk for the following offices:
- Mayor
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 1

The Region of Durham has released staff recommendations on Alternative Land Need Scenarios intended to inform decisions on how housing, population and employment growth can be accommodated across the Region.

Yard Waste Collection returns to Oshawa this spring

The City has kicked off our bi-weekly yard waste collection in Oshawa. Yard waste is collected every other week on the same day as garbage collection.
Download the new mobile Durham Region Waste App by searching for “Durham Region Waste” in the app store, or visit oshawa.ca/waste for more information on yard waste collection and to confirm your collection day. Due to the volume of material at the curb, there may be some delays with collection.

Businesses in the downtown area of Oshawa are encouraged to learn more about a pilot project that temporarily permits sandwich board signs.
Sandwich board signs are an affordable tool for businesses to advertise to visitors and community members, especially during the summer season.
The pilot project runs until April 1, 2023 and permits sandwich board signs in Central Business District Zones in the Downtown Oshawa Urban Growth Centre.
