The City of Oshawa announced today a three-year partnership agreement with a local family owned and operated business, Owasco. Under the agreement, Owasco is the sponsor of Arena 3 at the City’s Legends Centre recreation facility.
“The City of Oshawa welcomes Owasco to the Legends Centre, our premier recreation centre,” said Oshawa Mayor, John Henry. “We thank Owasco for their generous support and investment in our city and community.”
“Giving back and investing in our community has always been our priority. Owasco has been in business for over 46 years and our success could not have been without our community’s support. Oshawa is home to so many of our Owasco family, so sponsoring a local arena at Legends made sense because that’s where people come to meet, socialize, play and have fun,” said Bob Verwey, President, Owasco. “It’s a great community hub and we are proud to be a part of it.”
As sponsor of Arena 3 at Legends Centre, Owasco sponsorship recognition includes decals on the arena’s window panes, a large banner inside the arena, ice logos during the regular ice season, branding on the score clock and rink board advertising.
Owasco is family owned and operated, serving the Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area since 1972. The Owasco group includes Owasco Audi, Owasco Volkswagen, Owasco RV Centre and Owasco RV Rentals.
The Legends Centre is a premier recreation and community facility featuring a leisure pool, four NHL-sized ice pads, a gymnasium, aerobics studio, fitness centre and elevated indoor walking track. It is also home to an Oshawa Public Libraries branch and Oshawa Senior Citizens Centres branch.
