The Oshawa Town and Gown Committee is seeking new members for the upcoming 2020 to 2022 term.
Town and Gown Committees exist in communities that are home to post-secondary institutions. The Committee brings people and groups together to address issues affecting both the city and the universities/college. The Committee helps to build bridges between all stakeholders and to make the post-secondary experience memorable and positive for students and the community.
Members of Oshawa’s Town and Gown Committee include representatives from Durham College, Ontario Tech University, Trent University Durham GTA, City of Oshawa and Durham Region, as well as community members. The Committee is looking to fill the community seats with members that represent the following groups:
- one neighbour or neighbourhood association;
- one landlord or landlord association;
- one business improvement area representative or one local business representative; and,
- one land developer.
Interested individuals and/or organizations can submit a letter of interest to [email protected] and include their name, affiliation and why they are interested in serving on the committee by Friday, October 18.
