The City of Oshawa and Oshawa Senior Community Centres (OSCC55+) are pleased to announce Donna Davidson as Oshawa’s Senior of the Year, an award that recognizes an outstanding senior that has enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the Oshawa community.

Ms. Davidson joined the OSCC55+ in 1970 as an instructor for senior fitness classes. Over the last 50 years, she has continued to teach and has impacted many members.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure of City facilities to the public, the City of Oshawa will offer cooling centres in two of its air-conditioned recreation facilities during declared heat events.

In response to the City of Oshawa entering Stage 2 of the Ontario Government’s gradual reopening of communities, Lakeview Park Beach will reopen to the public with limited access as of Friday, July 3.

Lakeview Park Beach will be staffed with lifeguards daily between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting) and hours may be extended to dusk during an extreme heat alert.

The Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA Ports) is initiating a Land Use Plan for the Port of Oshawa. HOPA Ports invites community members to complete an online survey and email [email protected] to be added to a mailing list for updates.
