Candidates
Nominations will be accepted between May 1, 2018 and 2:00 p.m. on July 27, 2018.
Nominations must be filed using the prescribed forms and accompanied by the prescribed nomination fee. Nominations for an office on Oshawa City Council must be endorsed by at least 25 persons. The filing fee is $200.00 for the offices of Regional Chair and Mayor and $100.00 for all other offices. This fee may be paid by cash, debit, certified cheque, or any other method approved by the City Clerk.
Nominations must be filed signed by the candidate and may be filed in person, or by an agent, at City Clerk Services during regular business hours between May 1, 2018 and July 26, 2018 and between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on July 27, 2018. A prospective candidate may not incur any expenses or solicit or accept contributions related to their campaign until they have filed their nomination paper with the City Clerk.
Prospective candidates are required to provide valid photo identification when the nomination package is submitted.
