City Clerk Services deliver services in accordance with the Municipal Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and various other acts. City Clerk Services consists of three divisions which provide a variety of services to the citizens of Oshawa, City Council and other internal and external clients.
Corporate Records |
The Corporate Records division is responsible for developing policies and procedures governing the management of information and records created and received by the organization. Staff within the division provides assistance and guidance respecting records management best practices for active and inactive records for information regardless of format. Staff within the division manage the City's access and privacy programs, including the administration of the City's formal Freedom of Information process in accordance with provincial legislation. Corporate Records staff is responsible for planning and conducting the Municipal and School Board elections every four years. |
Service Oshawa |
Service Oshawa is a centralized multi-channel front-line service delivery provider responding to requests for information and service from various modes of contact. The Centre provides a seamless link between customers and departments through customer reception, data processing for billing and collection activities, information, conducting customer surveys, and implementing and reporting on customer service performance measures for the organization. Support Services |
Support Services facilitates government decision-making by providing procedural advice and secretariat services to City Council and its committees. Support Services staff prepare meeting notices and agendas, receive communications and petitions from the public, prepare minutes of meetings and correspondence resulting from the decision of Council and its committees. Support Services staff maintain the City's by-laws for easy access by City officials, members of Council and the public. |
