Responsibilities
The Engineering Services branch is in charge of the management of the City of Oshawa's municipal infrastructure such as bridges, roads and sewers; and environmental features such as storm water ponds and creek bank protection. We are responsible for the following:
- establishing engineering standards and policies
- developing and maintaining inventories
- assessing infrastructure and creek conditions
- determining improvement needs
- preparing capital budgets and programs
- managing the design and construction of work projects
- approving utility locations within roads
We are also involved with development throughout the City by providing the following:
- engineering review of development applications
- approval of design
- administration of agreements
- construction inspection and acceptance of municipal services

- storm water management review of development proposals and applications
