Welcome to the City of Oshawa Purchasing Services website. We aim to offer open, accountable and transparent purchasing services to Oshawa.
Purchasing Services provides centralized procurement services for all City of Oshawa departments and designated boards. We oversee the purchase of goods and services to ensure competitive pricing, quality goods and services and timely delivery to meet City needs.
Bid opportunities are posted at oshawa.bidsandtenders.ca. Bidders can create an account to register for bid opportunities.
Features available:
It is the bidder's sole responsibility to access and download addenda, updates and new open bid opportunities.
When the City declares items as surplus, they are disposed of online auction or Region of Durham auction, trade-in, donation or bid solicitation.
The Region of Durham auction is held annually on the last Saturday of September.
Online auctions occur throughout the year at www.govdeals.ca.
The City is committed to accessibility through the following relevant provincial statutes:
Legislation states that all contractors providing goods, services or construction to the City shall ensure their employees and/or subcontractors are trained on providing accessible customer services. Training can be as simple as reading through the Accessible Customer Service Guide.
In order to maintain and promote simplified standards and keep pace with changing market conditions, Purchasing Services maintains membership and subscribes to the principles and ethics of these associations:
The City of Oshawa and other publically funded agencies within the Regional Municipality of Durham are members of the Durham Purchasing Co-operative.
The City of Oshawa is also a member of the Greater Toronto Area Purchasing Group. Meeting quarterly, the group promotes excellence through strategic procurement. This group does not issue bid calls. It focuses on sharing information, current purchasing standards, practices and market trends.
