Elections Employment
The City of Oshawa is now receiving applications from enthusiastic and capable individuals to work as Election Officials on voting day, Monday, October 24.
The City is currently hiring for the following positions:
- Managing Deputy Returning Officer (M.D.R.O.)
- Deputy Returning Officer (D.R.O.)
- Revising Deputy Returning Officer (R.D.R.O.)
- Tabulator Deputy Returning Officer (T.D.R.O.)
- Information Clerk
Individuals hired as Election Officials will:
- work from approximately 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on voting day and attend two hours of training beforehand
- receive an Election Official stipend of $240-$350 depending on the assigned role
Individuals selected as M.D.R.O.s will also be required to work at one advance voting opportunity. The stipend will be paid for this work day as well.
Apply to become an Election Official
Interested individuals aged 16 and older must submit an application and complete a brief assessment to be considered for an Election Official role. Applications can be submitted:
- online
- on paper at Legislative Services (5th Floor, Rundle Tower, City Hall, 50 Centre St. S.)
