City of Oshawa Public Sector Salary List for 2019
The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 (the Act) requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year. The Act aims to make Ontario's public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers.
The Act applies to organizations such as the Government of Ontario, Crown agencies, municipalities, hospitals, boards of public health, school boards, universities and colleges, Ontario Power Generation and other public sector employers who receive a significant level of funding from the provincial government. The municipality of the City of Oshawa annually provides a Record of Employees’ Salaries and Taxable Benefits as required under the Act.
In 2019, 259 City of Oshawa employees received salary and taxable benefits of $100,000 or more compared with 248 in 2018. The 2019 list includes 141 International Association of Fire Fighters employees, 69 management employees, 43 non-management exempt employees, three CUPE 251 employees and two CUPE 250 employees. Overall, there is a net increase of 11 employees on the 2019 Salary Disclosure List compared to 2018.
