Durham Region Notice: Road Closure Notice on Conlin Rd. from Thickson Rd. N. to Stevenson Rd. N.
The Regional Municipality of Durham is constructing a new feedermain on Conlin Rd. from Thickson Rd. N. (Regional Rd 26) to Stevenson Rd. N., and on Garrard side rd. approximately 400m south of Conlin Road in the Town of Whitby and City of Oshawa. In coordination with the City of Oshawa, the work also includes road reconstruction, watermain, sanitary and storm sewer construction on Conlin Rd. from the west city limits to 250m west of Stevenson Rd. N. in the City of Oshawa, as shown on the attached map.
Construction Schedule
The Region’s contractor, New-Alliance Ltd., anticipates completing the work by October 2023.
Road Closures and Lane Restrictions
Conlin Rd. is being closed to through traffic in stages during the 2023 construction season to complete the work. Access for local traffic and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Upcoming Closure – The existing Conlin Rd. closure limits will be extended to include Conlin Rd .from east of Garrard Rd. to west of Stevenson Rd. N. and the intersection of Thornton Rd. N. and Conlin Rd. W. This closure will be in effect beginning March 6 until August 2023. Unfavourable weather conditions and work progress may influence the closure schedule.
The closure area and detour routes are as shown on the attached map.
Lane restrictions will occur through the duration of construction. Local residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of the construction workers. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway.
Municipal construction projects include the use of equipment which may cause noticeable noise and vibration for nearby residents and businesses. The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Businesses
Businesses will remain open for the duration of construction. The Region recognizes there may be potential impacts during the work.
