Nomination deadline fast approaching for upcoming Municipal & School Board Elections
The 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections nomination deadline is fast approaching! Prospective candidates must complete the required forms and file their nomination according to the Nomination Process before 2 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday, August 19.
Interested individuals can file nomination for the following offices with the City Clerk:
- Mayor
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 1
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 2
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 3
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 4
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 5
- City Councillor, Ward 1
- City Councillor, Ward 2
- City Councillor, Ward 3
- City Councillor, Ward 4
- City Councillor, Ward 5
- Trustee, Durham District School Board
- Trustee, Durham Catholic District School Board
- Conseiller(ère), Conseil scolaire Viamonde
- Conseiller(ère), Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir
Prospective candidates are encouraged to make an appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to file nomination paperwork with City Clerk Services at 905-436-3311 or [email protected]. Nomination paperwork must be filed in-person at City Hall (50 Centre St. S.).
Prospective candidates can learn more about the filing process and requirements on the Nominations webpage. The Candidate Information Package, including the nomination paper, can be:
- downloaded from the Nominations webpage; or,
- picked up in-person at Service Oshawa, located at City Hall (50 Centre St. S.).
The City Clerk will accept nominations for local offices until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19.
Nominations for the office of Regional Chair must be filed with the Regional Clerk at the Regional Municipality of Durham Headquarters located at 605 Rossland Rd. E., Whitby.
