Oshawa Celebrates Local Government Week - Meet our team
The City of Oshawa is proud to once again take part in Local Government Week, celebrated province-wide the third week in October.
Local Government Week is a time to showcase municipalities’ commitment to building strong, vibrant communities. It aims to increase awareness about the important role local government plays in defining not only the programs, services and physical make-up of the City, but also the culture and environment that make Oshawa a community of choice.
The City of Oshawa will recognize Local Government Week throughout October with an engaging meet Team Oshawa social media campaign and the Mayor for a Day contest.

Throughout October, different City of Oshawa staff members will be featured on the City’s social media accounts. The staff profiles will highlight a few of the diverse careers that play an integral role in providing services and amenities to residents across Oshawa.

Mayor for a Day
Local students were invited write a letter to the Mayor explaining why they want to be Mayor for a Day and what their vision is for the future of Oshawa.
Submissions are due by midnight, Friday, October 6, and are to be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line “Mayor for a Day contest”.
