Frequently Asked Questions
If my child reaches the minimum age required for a program after the program starts, can they still register?
No, participants must be the correct age at the start of their registered program.
For example, if a program begins on July 4 and the minimum age required is five, the child must be five on July 4. If the child does not turn five until July 11, they are not eligible for the program.
I am not sure what my child’s swim level is. How do I find out?
Visit a recreation facility during public swim hours for a complimentary swim assessment before registration day or contact Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 to connect with an Aquatic Coordinator.
Can I register my child for a program using my account?
To register your child for a program, you must first add them to your family group account. This process must be complete before registration day. Learn how to add a family member now.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you cannot attend a class, make-up classes will not be offered.
If the program I want is full, what do I do?
We recommend adding your name to the waitlist if your preferred program is full. There is no charge to be added to the waitlist. If a spot opens up, our team will contact individuals on the waitlist based on the sign up order. If you have registered for a program but would like to switch to an available waitlisted program, you can do so at no extra cost.
