How to register or book your next visit
Contact a recreation facility for assistance with your registration or booking.
Online registration and bookings |
Community members wishing to enroll in a registered program or book their next visit to a recreation facility can complete their registration, or booking, online through activeOshawa Online Registration. Registration is quick, convenient, and confirmation is immediate.
- To complete your registration, or booking, community members will be required to login with their activeOshawa account by providing their email address and password.

Drop-off, mail or fax registration and bookings |
- Drop-off, mail or fax your registration form with payment by credit card to a recreation facility.
- Confirmation will be mailed. If you have not received confirmation 1 week prior to the program start date, please call one of the recreation facilities to confirm your enrollment.

Registration forms |
- Registration forms are available and at all recreation facilities. Complete the entire form and be sure information is accurate, sign the form and include payment. If you are registering online - no registration form is needed.
- Visit a recreation facility with your registration form (the Arts Resource Centre is for drop-off registration only).
- In-person registration may not be available during all evening and weekend facility hours at Donevan Recreation Complex. Please call ahead to confirm.
- Cash, debit, Visa, American Express (AMEX), Mastercard and cheques payable to the City of Oshawa are accepted.
- Confirmation is immediate.

Age requirements |
- Participants registering must meet the age requirements by the last class in the program, unless otherwise stated. If the participant is not yet of the required age at time of registration but will be the required age before the program ends, registration must be made in person.
- Registration forms for participants under 18 years old, must be signed by a legal guardian.

Program fees & H.S.T. |
- The total fee is due at the time of registration. Cash, debit, Visa, American Express (AMEX), Mastercard and cheques payable to the City of Oshawa are accepted.
- The City programs identified for youth or 14 years of age and all City adult programs are H.S.T. taxable.
- All fees listed in the activeOshawa Guide include all material fees, award fees and applicable taxes. When registering on Online Registration, the total program fee (including material fees, award fees and applicable taxes) will appear upon checkout. All fees are subject to change.
- Registrations received after the first class but before the third class will be pro-rated, provided the program has available space.

Returned payments |
- An administration fee of $40 will be charged for all payments that are returned by the bank.
- You will be required to replace your original cheque with cash, certified cheque, American Express (AMEX), Mastercard, Visa or debit.
- No further purchases will be permitted until replacement payment is received.

Refunds |
Full Refunds
Participants will receive a full refund if:
- Program is cancelled by the City prior to the start date of the program; or
- Participant withdraws from a program 7 or more days prior to the start of the program
Partial Refunds
- Participants will receive a partial refund if a request for refund is received and the participant withdraws from a program less than 7 days prior to the start of the program and before the second class.
- All partial refunds for program registrations will be pro-rated based on the percent of the program remaining at the time the refund request is received. Program refunds received after this period will be subject to a $11.00 administration fee.
- Refunds are not issued after the second class of a program, unless for medical reasons. In the case of a medical reason, a verified doctor's note is required to be submitted at the time of request for refund.
Refund Requests
- Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal.
- Requests for partial refund must be submitted on a Refund Request Form to the Recreation Information Clerks at any recreation facility in person or by fax.
- Refund requests are reviewed and approved by the Program Coordinator or Program Supervisor of the relevant program.

Overdue invoices and accounts |
Recreation and Culture Services will charge interest on balances 30 days overdue calculated from the invoice date. Interest at a rate of 1.25% monthly will be applied on the first day of each month until full payment is received.
Payments must be received and processed by the due date in order to avoid interest charges.
