Lakeview Park is a family-friendly park and is open to everyone however large gatherings and special/specific uses require a permit. The City of Oshawa's Facility Booking Office issues permits for several large designated spaces between May and September.

Permit Requirements |
- Permits are required for groups of 20 or more and visitors can reserve space in Areas A, B, C and D. Areas A and B can hold many groups of various sizes. The Picnic Shelter (Area C) is equipped with seating for up to 120 people.
- Visitors must obtain a permit through the Facility Booking Office in advance of a visit to Lakeview Park.
- Visitors who do not obtain a permit prior to their park visit will be approached by Municipal Law Enforcement Officers and/or Parks Services staff to provide permit applications and accept credit card payments on-site. Small groups of 19 or less are best suited to Area E and do not require a permit.

Food and Beverages |
- All personal cooking devices including barbeques (propane, charcoal) are not permitted anywhere in the park.
- Visitors are encouraged to bring prepared food to Lakeview Park. However, if you are looking for another option, the Jubilee Pavilion will customize a menu to fit your needs and budget. The Jubilee Pavilion has sole concession rights at Lakeview Park. No outside catering/corporate food services are permitted.
- For catering services and options during your visit to Lakeview Park, contact the Jubilee Pavilion. Advance booking is required.
- Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.

Other Conditions of Use |
- Fires are strictly prohibited.
- The applicant is responsible for the removal of litter and the restoration of the picnic area. Any additional cleanup costs will be charged back to the permit holder.
- Picnic Shelter & Gazebos: Decorations and signs to be attached must receive prior approval by City staff and must not be put up with staples or duct tape. Only string and masking tape are permitted. Signs are not permitted to be staked into the ground without prior approval.
- Public Announcement (P.A.) systems, blow-horns and the amplification of sound are prohibited unless approved by the appropriate staff.

Tents, shelters, or structures of any kind cannot be erected unless authorized by permit. Groups who receive a permit from the Facility Booking Office are allowed a temporary shade structure up to 12 feet by 12 feet in size, provided the structure is not enclosed on any side. Shade structures cannot be staked into the ground, only disk weights or sandbags can be used.
- If requesting the use of a jumping castle, you must obtain a carnival licence from Licensing at 905-436-3311.
- No one is permitted to block off a parking lot for their group.
- Solicitation of any kind is not allowed.
- Observation lookouts are designated locations to view and enjoy the natural surroundings and should not be used for picnics.
- Swim only in supervised swim area while lifeguards are on duty.
- Pets must be leashed and are not allowed on any public beach.
- Help keep Lakeview Park clean and remember to pick up your litter and pet waste!

Insurance Requirements |
Organizations wishing to host a group picnic are required to provide proof of general liability insurance in the amount of $5 million naming the City of Oshawa as an additional insured party. If this option is not available to you, you can take advantage of the community insurance program offered through the City of Oshawa. Facility booking representatives can provide further details on insurance program and rates. |
