The City of Oshawa is dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive recreation opportunities for participants of all abilities.
1:1 or 1:2 inclusion support can be requested for any program listed in the activeOshawa Recreation Program Guide. Requests are fulfilled in order of request and based on the availability of appropriate Inclusion staff. Support is not guaranteed. Participants may provide their own support staff to assist if desired.

To request inclusion support for a summer program, please register for your summer program of choice and to the Inclusion Services - Summer Programs course ID. The Inclusion Coordinator will confirm if the request for inclusion support has been fulfilled.

The City of Oshawa Recreation and Culture Services provides integrated camp experiences for eligible children who benefit from 1:1 support to be successful. To confirm inclusion support, register for camp as well as the applicable inclusion course ID for that camp week. Allocation of inclusion support will be filled in order of request and based on the availability of appropriate inclusion staff. Families have the option to provide their own 1:1 support.

Camp registration |
Camps will be planned in alignment with the Ministry of Health COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for Camp and Durham Regional Public Health guidelines. Communication will be sent if there are any changes to camp heath and safety guidelines. Any changes to this guidance may result in changes to camp offerings, protocols, services, and/or cancellations of programs/services with little notice.

Adaptive Camp |
A week of camp designed for those 14 years of age and older with physical and or developmental needs Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities that will be adapted to their abilities and interests in a sensory friendly environment. Campers will swim daily. Register for Adaptive camp on activeOshawa Online. |

Parents/guardians must complete all forms the Thursday before camp starts.

The City of Oshawa is pleased to offer Inclusion Services - Family and Friends Public Swim at the Delpark Homes Centre and South Oshawa Community Centre, beginning the week of July 4, 2022. Please see the swim schedule information below:
These public swim times are dedicated to individuals of all abilities and their families and friends. Please note, mobility devices with clean wheels will be permitted on the pool deck. Caregivers are responsible for the provision of 1:1 support in the pool as needed. Typical public swim rules and fees apply.
