The Oshawa Youth Council is excited to welcome back youth in-person for this year's National Youth Week. The council has planned a week of activities that aim to create connections for youths, by youths. From May 1 to 7, 2022, the Oshawa Youth Council will be hosting free events aimed at giving the youth space to share their creativity and connect with others.
National Youth Week is an annual, week-long series of events and activities dedicated to youth. It is designed to celebrate youth culture and is planned and coordinated by the Oshawa Youth Council , City staff and Youth Partners for youth in the community. All events are free admission for youth!

Description: Come celebrate National Youth Week and test your skills in a friendly game of Dodgeball. Sign-in and blind draws for teams will take place from 6:30-7:00 pm. You must come before 7:00 p.m. to be placed on a team, anyone arriving after 7:00 p.m. can be a sub. Number of games played will be determined by number of teams. Games begin at 7:00 pm. Description: Come celebrate National Youth Week and discover your artistic side at Oshawa Youth Council's Collaborative Creations Event. Participants will create individual pieces that will be combined and displayed in City of Oshawa Facilities. All skill levels are welcome, and supplies will be provided. Bring a friend! Description: Pick up a paper and a pen Oshawa! This National Youth Week we are scripting some brand-new stories with the Oshawa Youth Council. Experience the power of writing where we put pen to paper and talk all things reading and writing. All skill levels are welcome. This event is run in partnership with the Oshawa Public Library who will be there to run a creative writing activity and give information on their youth programs and resources for youth. Please note this is a registered event.

Description: The Robert McLaughlin Gallery’s free monthly concert series RMG FRIDAYS finally returns for the May 2022 edition! In addition to short films courtesy of Durham Region International Film Festival, an appearance by series mainstays WOOLY (7:30pm), and an exhibition tour (8:15pm), this month’s event features a headline performance by Canadian indie darlings DIZZY (8:45pm). Musical performances will take place in the backyard; the film screening and tour will both take place indoors. This event is free and for all ages. Registration is not required. Drop in for an evening of fun!

Description: Teen Night is a free program for teens ages 13-18. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., youth are offered free access to the facility to play sports, swim, dance, and participate in many other physical activities that support teens’ growth into healthy and confident young adults equipped for success.
