Public Art Open House: Downtown Oshawa Urban Square
Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
Arts Resource Centre, 45 Queen Street
The City is excited to commission new permanent public artwork for the forthcoming Downtown Oshawa Urban Square through a community-engaged process.
Join us to meet the artists, learn about the public artworks being proposed for the Square and provide input on public art in Oshawa.
A Public Art Jury comprised of residents and community members will make a recommendation for acquisition following a review of the presentations and public feedback.
This event is presented as part of the City’s centennial celebrations.
About the park:
The Downtown Oshawa Urban Square will be located in the heart of downtown Oshawa, at Bond Street East and Simcoe Street North. The Square is expected to be completed by July 2025. The square will be a unique focal point of downtown Oshawa, hosting community celebrations, events and concerts that appeal to both community members and visitors, bringing vitality and excitement into the downtown core.

This event will feature artist talks that inspire community engagement while spotlighting local artists. Explore the intersection of creativity and community as we showcase the diverse talents that contribute to public art in our city.

Art Classes
Each season the City offers a slate of creative classes through our Recreation program. We offer programs in arts and crafts, pottery, dance, drama and music. Classes are available for all age groups. In addition, an Inclusion Support Program ensures inclusive recreation opportunities for participants of all abilities.
