National Youth Week
National Youth Week is an annual, week-long series of free events and activities dedicated to youth. Events are designed to celebrate youth culture and are organized by the Oshawa Youth Council and City of Oshawa in collaboration with our community partner, BGC Durham.

Saturday, May 2: Drop-in Sports
- Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.
- Ages: 12-17
- Registration: Drop-in
- Description: Join us for a fun and welcoming drop-in sports event where you can jump into games, stay active, and connect with others, no registration required! All skill levels are welcome, so come out, bring a friend, and enjoy a great time playing your favorite sports in a relaxed noncompetitive environment.
- Time: 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
- Location: Donevan Recreation Complex, 171 Harmony Rd S.
- Ages: 12-17
- Registration: Advance registration required. Register now!
- Description: Join us for our beginners Yoga class designed to introduce foundational poses, breathing techniques, and mindful movement in a supportive, relaxed environment. All skill levels are welcome, making it a perfect space to build confidence, flexibility, and strength at your own pace.

- Location: Delpark Homes Centre, 1661 Harmony Rd. N.
- Ages: 12-17
- Registration: Drop-in
- Description: Grab your swimsuits and get ready to make a splash at our Youth Night Swim, Beach Party Edition! With free admission for youth ages 10 to 17, it’s the perfect chance to dive in and cool off. The slide and water features will be operating during this swim. Regular pool rules will apply.
Thursday, May 7: Get On Board Night
- Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Location: South Oshawa Community Centre, 1455 Cedar St.
- Ages: 12-17
- Registration: Drop-in
- Description: Gather your friends and Get On Board for an exciting board game night at South Oshawa Community Centre! Whether you love strategy games or games that make you laugh out loud, this event is the perfect way to compete and connect. Free for youth!
Boys and Girls Club of Durham Event Schedule
Friday, May 1: BGC Durham’s Jr. Youth Social at Northview
- Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St E.
- Ages: 11 to 13
- Description: Kick off National Youth Week and enjoy a fun-filled evening of socially inspired
activities. Take part in many different activities, from billiards, board games, foosball, cards,
and/or spoons. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Saturday, May 2: BGC Durham’s BGC Music Festival
- Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Location: 433 Eulalie Ave.
- Ages: All Ages
- Description: Be part of the first-ever BGC music festival, in support of National Youth Week.
Enjoy live music from local youth artists. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be available for
purchase.

Monday, May 4: BGC Durham’s Youth Volleyball Tournament
- Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.
- Ages: 13+
- Description: New this year! Test your skills in a friendly game of volleyball. Sign-in and blind
draws for teams will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. You must come before 7 p.m. to be
placed on a team; anyone arriving after 7 p.m. can be a sub. The number of games played
will be determined by the number of teams. Games begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments and energy
snacks will be served.

Tuesday, May 5: BGC Durham’s 2K Tournament
- Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

- Description: Join us for some friendly competition, high-energy matchups, and a chance to
show off your skills on the virtual court. New this year is our 2K Basketball Tournament! Snacks
and refreshments will be served.

or be placed on a team via blind draws between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. You must come before 7 p.m. to play in this tournament. The number of games played will be determined by the number
of teams. Games begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments and energy snacks will be served.

Thursday, May 7: BGC Durham’s Bingo Blitz & Trivia Night

- Description: Come join us for an evening to challenge your brain in our Trivia contest
and get ready for some endless Bingo Blitz. Door Prizes, Contest Prizes, and more will
be awarded throughout the night. As well enjoy some delicious, sweet treats at our ice
cream bar. This is a drop-in event, and no registration is required.
