- The Civic Dome is for tennis and track use only
- Membership passes must be worn/displayed at all times
- Strollers are permitted Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Walking poles with tip covers are permitted
- Unauthorized equipment outside of permitted training times is not allowed as it limits access for others in shared spaces
- Appropriate attire, including clean indoor footwear, top, shorts/pants must be worn at all times
- Pyramid spikes are permitted up to 5 mm in length, needle spikes are not allowed
- Water in a plastic container is allowed; no other food or beverages are permitted
- Personal training/ fitness coaching is not allowed except for permitted track specific training and City programming
- Patrons must adhere to the posted direction of the track each day, no back tracking is permitted
- Civic Dome clock is to be used for court booking start and end times
- An adult must accompany children 12 years of age and under. Children 5 years and under must be under direct supervision and within an arm's reach of the accompanying adult
- Spectators are not permitted
Tracks Indoor and Outdoor
The City of Oshawa has two indoor tracks and one outdoor track available to community members with a Level 1, Level 2 or All Inclusive membership or for use through regular admission fees.

Indoor track
The indoor track at the Civic Recreation Complex is located in the Civic Dome and is a four lane, 225 m rubberized surface, making it a popular training facility for track clubs and sports teams. Any club that wishes to train on the track must apply to reserve a lane. There are designated times for team usage. Space is limited and teams will only be admitted if they have a permit for use.
- Seven laps equals one mile, 4.5 laps equals one kilometre
- Lane one and two are for walking or jogging, and lanes three and four running or jogging
- Track users will be directed upon arrival as to the direction for walking or running on the track
Hours of operation
Closed:
- Monday and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Shared:
- Monday and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
*During shared track time only Lane one will be open to the public.
*A dome closure may occur when inside temperatures exceed 30 °C. Please contact the Civic Recreation Complex or check for Civic Dome closures at Service Disruptions.
Outdoor track
The outdoor track at the Civic Recreation Complex has reopened after renovations.

The enhanced track features a new rubber surface designed to improve performance, last longer and be safer while meeting World Athletics standards. Other upgrades include improvements to the javelin and pole vault runways, the high jump area and the long jump pits. The track is an 8-lane, 400-metre Mondo track.
To rent the outdoor track, complete a Civic Fields and Outdoor Track rental application. To host a Track and Field Meet at the Civic Recreation Complex, complete a Track and Field Meet application.
The track is now open to both members and pay-per-use customers during the posted hours of operation. Track users must first check-in at the Civic Recreation Complex Reception Desk before accessing the facility.
Member Access
- Members must scan their membership card at Civic Reception.
- Members may request a wristband.
- Members who choose not to wear a wristband must keep their membership card with them as proof of admission while using the track.
Pay-Per-Use Access
- Pay-per-use customers must pay the applicable admission fees at Civic Reception.
- Reception staff will provide a wristband to all pay-per-use customers as proof of admission.
Hours of Operation
- Hours of operation from April 1 to October 31 are weather dependent.
- Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to Dusk
- Saturday & Sunday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Closed on statutory holidays
- The facility is closed from November 1 to March 31.
Please note that hours are subject to change due to field 1 rentals, track rentals, track meets, special events, and maintenance requirements. The track may be closed to the public during these times.
- Proper attire and running shoes are required.
- Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Animals and pets are not allowed, except for service animals.
- No food or drink. Only water in non-breakable containers is permitted on the track.
- The use of bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or any other wheeled device is prohibited, except for mobility aids required for accessibility purposes.

- Appropriate attire must be worn at all times, including clean indoor footwear, a top/shirt, and shorts or pants.
- Boots or open-toed shoes are not permitted.
Equipment
- Only walking poles with rubber tip covers are permitted.
- No hand-held weights or dumbbells permitted.
Personal Belongings
- No bags, coats, or jackets allowed on the track. Hangers and lockers are available for personal belongings on the main level.
Courtesy & Conduct
- No video recording or photography permitted.
- No music permitted without headphones.
- Please be respectful of others when using cell phones. Keep conversations private and/or use headphones.
