Opens Wednesday, September 16
South Oshawa Community Centre (SOCC) pool at 1455 Cedar St. will reopen on Wednesday, September 16, following a major reconstruction project that included essential repairs to the pool to ensure safe operation.
Free leisure swims for Oshawa residents
To thank facility users and residents for their understanding and patience, City Council has approved that leisure swims will be provided at no cost to Oshawa residents for the remainder of 2026. These swims are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability and capacity limits.
To access free leisure swimming, residents must show government-issued identification with proof of Oshawa residency.

Registration for swimming lessons and aquatic programs
Fall swimming lessons and aquatic programs at South Oshawa Pool will begin the week of October 13. Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29. Registration fees will apply. All available SOCC swimming lessons and aquatic programs will be viewable at activeOshawa Online starting September 22.
Residents wishing to transfer swim lessons or aquatic programs from their current location to the South Oshawa Pool will be required to complete their transfer request by Friday October 9 to have transfer fees waived. Transfer requests must be made in person, by calling 905-436-3311 or by emailing through an existing account on activeOshawa Online.
Online registration will be available through activeOshawa Online. Online payment options include MasterCard, American Express, Visa, and Visa debit. MasterCard debit and American Express debit are not accepted payment options.
In-person registration will be available at the South Oshawa Community Centre, as well as Civic Recreation Complex, Delpark Homes Centre and Donevan Recreation Complex. For faster service, print and complete the Course registration form in advance. In-person payment options include cash, debit, American Express, MasterCard, Visa and cheques payable to the City of Oshawa.
