Playground Program
Free Playground Programs including our Parented and Drop-off programs, will be available beginning July 2, 2024 at select playground locations.
Parented Program
The Parented Program is a free service offered by the City in partnership with Their Opportunity.
This program is available for families with children ages three to five and will run from 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. twice a week at select playground locations starting the week of July 2, 2024. This program is a drop-in only and as a result, advance registration is not required; however, parents/guardians are required to actively participate during program sessions.
The Parented Program is subject to cancellation based on weather, staff resources, and attendance.

Drop-off Program
The Drop-off Program is a free service offered by the City of Oshawa in partnership with Their Opportunity. Parents of children aged five to 12 can drop their child off at select playground locations. Play Leaders will provide fun and engaging opportunities for children to play games, make crafts and enjoy other activities.
The program runs Monday to Friday from July 2 to August 16, 2024. Programs will be cancelled on the Civic Holiday - August 5.
Drop-off Program registration
This program is drop-in only and as a result, advance registration is not required; however, all participants must fill out consent forms before participating in the program. Forms are available below or can be completed in person on the first day of the program.
Playground participants can come and go as they wish with written permission from a parent/guardian. Playground staff are not responsible for children once they leave the play area. Please note washrooms are not available.

Drop-off Program Consent Forms
All Drop-off Program participants are required to fill out the Emergency Contact and Consent Form for each playground location you are attending. Forms can be printed and returned in person or are available on site at the playground location. Participants must provide the completed Emergency Contact Consent form in order to participate in the program.
Participants 10 years of age and older walking home from the playground unaccompanied must fill out and return the Permission to Walk Home Form. Forms will be available on site at the playground location. All children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to and from the playground as identified on the Emergency Contact and Consent Form. Government issued I.D. must be presented upon pick up.
Inclement weather and heat alerts
Playground Programs may be cancelled when inclement weather occurs. When a Heat Alert has been issued by Environment Canada, Playground Program locations without adequate shade will be cancelled for the day. Participants should wear sunscreen, hat and bring a water bottle.
