Drop-in sports activity schedules

Select a recreation facility from the below list to see available activities and schedules. 

For drop-in sports activities, please arrive at the facility during the scheduled time and pay applicable admissions fees at the reception desk. Some activities may require advanced booking via activeOshawa Online or by calling 905-436-3311. 

While the City works to ensure activity schedules are offered as presented on activeOshawa Online, maintenance, weather and unforeseen incidents may result in schedules being adjusted.

Service Disruption: Badminton unavailable October 14 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Badminton scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 will be cancelled. As a result, community members will not be able to reserve that time slot.

Drop-in sports admission fees

Visit Memberships and Admissions to see drop-in sports admission fees or enroll in our membership program. Memberships are available for one, three, six and 12 month durations.

Drop-in sports descriptions and rules

The City of Oshawa offers a variety of drop-in sports, including:

Badminton

A popular program for participants of all ages. Birdies and racquets are available for use. Please note:

  • One Day advanced booking is required for those 12 years and older.
  • All players must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Members must scan their membership card. Card must be shown to gymnasium staff before access to the courts.
  • Non-members are to pay the drop-in fee and show photo I.D. before access to the courts.
  • Only those with reserved time will be allowed access.
  • Players can only reserve and play one court time (1 hour) per day and will be admitted into the gym at their reserved time.
  • There is a maximum of 12 registered players (4 players per court).

Basketball

Join your friends for a friendly game of pick-up basketball! Games are supervised but unstructured. Please note:
  • All players must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Shoes must be non-marking indoor shoes.
  • Spectators are not permitted.
  • There is a maximum of 25 participants per session (wristbands/stamps will be issued prior to entry on the court and must be visible on participants during play).

Family Open Sports

A great time for participants of all ages to get out and play. Family Open Sports is supervised but unstructured. Please note:
  • All equipment is provided.
  • All participants must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Parents/guardians are to remain on-site to supervise their participants if they are not on the field participating with them.
  • There is a maximum of 24 participants per session.

Pickleball

Join us for fun and exercise.
  • Pickleballs and paddles are available for use.
  • All participants must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Members must scan their membership card. Card must be shown to gymnasium staff before access to the courts.
  • Non-members are to pay the drop-in fee and show photo I.D. before access to the courts.
  • There is a maximum of 25 participants per session (at the South Oshawa Community Centre, wristbands will be issued prior to entry on the court and must be visible on participants during play).

Preschool

Provides age appropriate activities for preschoolers 0 to 6 years and their parents/guardians to play and socialize in an unstructured environment.
  • Participants are asked to bring indoor footwear to play.
  • Parents/guardians are to remain on-site to supervise their participants. 
  • There is a maximum of 25 participants per session.

Soccer

Games are played on a quarter field, balls and nets supplied. Please note:
  • Spectators are not allowed during evening drop-in soccer programs.
  • All participants must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Food and drink are not permitted.
  • There is a maximum of 24 participants per quarter field (wristbands will be issued prior to entry and must be visible on participants during play).
