Natural outdoor ice rinks closed for the season Due to the weather and ice conditions, the natural outdoor ice rinks at the Delpark Homes Centre are now closed for the season. Leisure skating descriptions and rules

Adult skate
An open skate for participants 18 years of age and older.
Parent and tot skate
Slower paced environment of young skaters. An adult must provide constant, active, on-ice supervision.
Public skate
An open skate for participants of all ages.
Public roller skating/rollerblading
An open floor time for participants of all ages to rollerblade/skate.
Shinny hockey
Players must sign-in prior to going on the ice. Full hockey equipment is required. Maximum of 22 skaters and 2 goalies.
Stick and puck
A skate intended for participants to practice their passing and stick handling. Game play and nets are not permitted. C.S.A. approved hockey helmets are mandatory for everyone on-ice including a full-mask for participants under 18 years of age. Maximum of 50 skaters. Maximum of 3 children per adult on-ice.
General rules |
- Be considerate of the rules for the safety and enjoyment of all skaters.
- For adult and public skates, C.S.A. approved hockey helmets (for ice skating) and rollerblading/skating helmets (for rollerblading/skating) are strongly recommended for all skaters.
- For public skates, C.S.A. approved hockey helmets (for ice skating) and rollerblading/skating helmets (for rollerblading/skating) are mandatory for children 5 years or younger.
- For Stick and Puck, C.S.A approved hockey helmets are mandatory for everyone on-ice including a full-mask for participants under 18 years of age.
- Extra protective equipment such as elbow pads, knee pads are recommended
- Only persons wearing roller skates/blades are permitted on the floor for Public Roller Skating/Rollerblading.
- Respect, listen to and follow instructions from skate patrol staff at all times.
- Report all accidents or injuries to skate patrol or arena staff immediately.
- Children 7 years or younger must be accompanied and supervised on-ice by a caregiver 14 years of age or older. Maximum of 3 children per caregiver.
- Children 8 to 10 years of age must be supervised by a caregiver who is at least 14 years of age, maximum of 3 children per caregiver. Caregivers are not required to go on the ice. No more than 2 caregivers per paid participant.
- Only persons wearing skates are permitted on the ice.
- Enter onto the ice surface only after the ice resurfacer is off the ice, the doors are closed and skate patrol staff are on the ice.

The following are not permitted at any time |
- Carrying children while skating on the ice, including baby carriers.
- Headsets, cell phones and hand-held electronic devices.
- Food and drinks.
- Strollers (unless used for accessibility purposes), chairs, sleds and toboggans.
- Games, tag, rough play, figure skating moves, backward, erratic or excessive speed skating.

The following apply to the use of skating aids, accessibility strollers, wheelchairs and ice sledges |
- Skating aids are allowed in designated areas. You must bring your own.
- Accessibility strollers or wheelchairs are allowed on the ice as long as the wheels are clean.
- Persons accompanying someone in an accessibility stroller, wheelchair or an ice sledge must wear skates and be able to skate.
