Air
The Oshawa Executive Airport is an executive level regional airport that can accommodate a variety of aircraft ranging from small recreational aircraft to 20 passenger business jets to 70 passenger turbo prop commuter aircraft.
Rail
Canadian National Railway Company (C.N.) and Canadian Pacific Railway (C.P.) rail corridors cross south Oshawa, providing freight service and switching facilities on Canada's mainline corridors from eastern Canada to southwestern Ontario, western Canada and the American mid-west. A C.P. rail corridor connects Toronto and Peterborough crossing north Oshawa.
Passenger service is provided by VIA Rail Canada and GO Transit.
Highways
Oshawa's convenient and well-maintained transportation network provides quick access to the six-lane Highway 401 connecting to Toronto, Montreal, Windsor and the United States. In addition, a four-lane regional highway provides a local east to west transportation link and Highway 407 runs through the northern area of the City, delivering further east/west access points.
Port
The Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority operates the harbour providing access to the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway System for inter-lake and overseas commercial shipping and is the only seaway-depth harbour on Lake Ontario between Toronto and Montreal. The Port is an inter-modal facility with a CN rail spur.
Passenger/Commuter
Oshawa and area residents enjoy an efficient and well-connected passenger transportation network that provides service within the City, throughout the Greater Toronto Area and across the Country.
- GO Transit provides regular train service between Oshawa and other Greater Toronto Area municipalities with additional trains covering the morning and evening peak commuter periods. - VIA Rail Canada provides both regular passenger and commuter service from the Oshawa station.
- Durham Region Transit (D.R.T.) is an integrated bus transit system serving all communities in Durham Region. Door-to-door transit services are available for Durham Region residents and visitors from Toronto, York and Peel Region with a disability through the D.R.T.'s Specialized Services.
