Oshawa City staff profiled as part of Local Government Week
Five City of Oshawa staff are taking you behind the scenes this week as the City celebrates Local Government Week.
Celebrated annually province-wide during the third week of October, Local Government Week offers residents and community members an opportunity to learn more about their municipal government. As the level of government closest to the community, our programs and services have a significant impact on your day-to-day life.
This week, we are inviting the community to get to know their municipal government through a special video series. Each day this week, we are spotlighting a City staff member. Check out their stories on the City’s Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts to learn more about their roles and responsibilities and take a dive into a day in the life of five public servants.
Here’s who you will meet:
- Monday: Jamie, Senior EVT Mechanic with Oshawa Fire Services, ensures fire trucks and life-saving equipment are safe, functional, and ready to respond.
- Tuesday: Scott, Chief Material Inspector, oversees the testing and approval of construction materials used in City infrastructure.
- Wednesday: Jen, Teaching City Project Coordinator, connects City staff with post-secondary students and faculty to collaborate on real-world projects.
- Thursday: Ken, Manager of Policy and Licensing Services, helps protect public health, safety, and consumer interests.
- Friday: Josh, Forestry Technician, helps grow and protect a healthier, more resilient tree canopy.
