When adding an image to a text component, to maintain a certain size in a text element, you must apply a style. Specifically, the Image(max width) style. Select your image and open the style drop down (it’s filled with ‘Paragraph’ originally) and select Images>Image (max width). If you don’t do this the image fills the full width of the text column.
