Heritage Oshawa is our Municipal Heritage Committee, made up of Council appointed volunteer members from the community.
We advise Council on matters relating to the conservation, education and promotion of Oshawa's cultural heritage resources. Cultural heritage resources include structures, streetscapes, landscapes, natural areas, cemeteries and burial places, and archaeological sites.
Heritage Oshawa works within the guidelines of the Ontario Heritage Act and the Oshawa Official Plan, and is dedicated to keeping Oshawa's heritage alive.

If you have interest in local history, heritage buildings, architecture, planning, construction, and/or law, you are encouraged to apply to be on the committee when a position becomes available. Application information will be posted on the City's website and in local newspapers. |
Research Reports |
Heritage research reports are commissioned by Heritage Oshawa in order to provide detailed research on a property's history, potential for designation under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, and potential heritage attributes under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act.
