Be sure to ride safely at Oshawa’s new BMX Bike Park
Bike enthusiasts are reminded to ride safely when taking in the jumps at Oshawa’s first BMX Bike Park. The park is now open for public use at 1095 Thornton Road North (east side of Thornton Road and south of the Oshawa Airport Golf Club).
The BMX Park is a dirt jump track that is approximately 5,000 square metres and incorporates numerous features including bermed corners, rolling step ups/downs, rollers, double rollers and tilted rollers. The park is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced tracks with corresponding features for each level.
Riders and visitors are reminded to comply with all posted signage and track rules, including:
- The bike park is not supervised.
- Park use is intended for persons with BMX experience and users are cautioned to use extreme care when participating on the track.
- Users under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian present.
- All riders must wear helmets and pads are highly recommended.
- Riders are asked to ensure bikes are in good working order and have a functional brake.
- The City reminds that all persons using the bike park do so at their own risk.
