Applications now open for Culture Days workshop facilitators

The City of Oshawa is seeking workshop facilitators to deliver innovative cultural programming during Culture Days 2026.

The City is calling for proposals from facilitators to lead workshops across a wide range of arts, culture and heritage-related topics. Topics may include visual arts and craft, literature and spoken word, theatre, film and video, museums and heritage, music, dance, creative career development and more.

Workshops should be:

  • two to four hours in length as a single session;
  • catered towards school-aged children, youth or adults and seniors;
  • a new program that is not already offered at the City of Oshawa, and;
  • in support of cultural development within arts workers and/or the general public.

Workshop proposals will be accepted until Monday, April 27 at 4 p.m. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of City staff and members of the Cultural Leadership Council.

To further support Oshawa’s cultural sector, the City of Oshawa will be developing and printing a 2026 Culture Days Guide to highlight the incredible programming taking place within the city. The City is calling for all businesses and organizations offering free community-engaged cultural programming between September 18 and October 4 to submit their program or event information to be included in the guide. Submissions for inclusion in the guide will be accepted until Friday, May 15 at 4 p.m. Visit oshawa.ca/CultureDays to submit your event.

Culture Days is a national three-week-long celebration of arts, culture and heritage, running from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, October 4 in 2026. Each fall, millions of people across the nation participate in thousands of free arts, culture and heritage events across the country. These events invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts, culture and heritage in our communities.
