Nominations for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections closed at 2 p.m. on August 21.

The List of Certified Candidates for the 2026 Municipal & School Board Elections can be found at voteoshawa.ca under the “Registered Candidates” button.

An application has been submitted to amend the Durham Regional Official Plan (Envision Durham), Oshawa Official Plan and Columbus Part II Plan (File: OPA-2026-04) submitted by KLM Planning Partners Inc. on behalf of Setcon Investments Inc. for lands at 201 Columbus Rd. E. The application has been determined to be complete. The Oshawa Economic and Development Services Committee will be considering the application at a future Planning Act public meeting.

A public meeting will be held on September 14 regarding applications to amend the Oshawa Official Plan and Zoning By-law submitted by The Biglieri Group Ltd. for lands at the northeast corner of Ritson Rd. N. and future extension of Nancy Diamond Blvd.

A public meeting will be held on September 14 regarding applications to amend the Kedron Part II Plan, to amend an approved Draft Plan of Subdivision and to amend the Zoning By-law, submitted by Land Solutions Ontario for lands generally located north and south of Britannia Ave. E., east of Grandview St. N.

A public meeting will be held on September 14 regarding applications to amend the Oshawa Official Plan, the Secondary Plan for the Samac Community and Zoning By-law submitted by 6IX LEV (Oshawa) Limited Partnership for lands at 1804, 1806, and 1808 Simcoe St. N. and 426 Niagara Dr.  

In accordance with By-law 181-2022, shopping carts found on City property and removed by the City are subject to a retrieval and storage fee. Carts not claimed will be disposed of the week following April 1, July 1, Oct 1, and Jan 1.
