Call for Artists: Artworks for Temporary Exhibition at Convergence

The City of Oshawa is excited to open a Call for Artists seeking artworks for a temporary exhibition during the City’s programming at Convergence Music and Art Festival (hosted by Oshawa Tourism).  

The City will be hosting a variety of activities at Veterans Square during the festival to spotlight Oshawa’s local talent and celebrate the installation of the City’s first independent sculpture commission, Kaleidoscope by Nicholas Crombach. Up to five artists will be selected to participate in a temporary exhibition in Veterans Square and have a reproduction of their artwork presented during the event.   

Submission details: 

  • Theme: “We Gather, We Remember, We Belong”. 

  • Review process: A selection committee consisting of City staff and representatives from the City’s Cultural Leadership Council and/or Public Art Task Force will evaluate the submissions.  

  • Submission deadline: Friday, June 12 at 12 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.

The Convergence Music and Art Festival is taking place in downtown Oshawa on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20. This festival celebrates the heart and soul of our community through music, art, and immersive experiences.
