City recruiting volunteers for two Committees

The City of Oshawa is seeking volunteers who want to become more involved in their community by contributing their skills and time.  

Appointments to the following committees listed below provide an opportunity to participate in shaping important community matters. All terms are until November 2026. 

Oshawa Animal Care Advisory Committee  

The City of Oshawa is seeking Community Partner Organizations who are interested in becoming more involved in their community by donating their skills and time on the Oshawa Animal Care Advisory Committee (O.A.C.A.C.).  

The purpose of the O.A.C.A.C. is to assist, advise and educate City Council, staff, key stakeholders and the wider Oshawa community with respect to continually improving the efficient and compassionate care of animals within the City of Oshawa.  

Organizations interested in seeking appointment to the Committee must submit an application form, available at online at oshawa.ca/CommitteeRecruitment or in person at Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre St. S.  

Oshawa Accessibility Advisory Committee 

To advise and assist City Council in developing and facilitating strategies and actions towards a barrier-free Oshawa. Members include persons with disabilities and individuals interested in issues related to persons with disabilities. 

The process 

Along with a resume, every Committee candidate must submit an application form, available at online at oshawa.ca/CommitteeRecruitment or in person at Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre St. S.  

Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. Following interviews, City Council will consider the names of Oshawa residents who wish to stand for appointment.
